A key part of our commitment to produce eco-friendly vehicles, the PUREDRIVE initiative focuses on improving fuel economy and reducing CO2 emission levels. For any vehicle to wear PUREDRIVE badge, Nissan requires that it exceed the industry average Federal CAFE fuel economy standards for model year 2016.

It’s efficient and it’s fun, and with the industry’s first mass-produced dual fuel-injector per cylinder design, it’s a true technological achievement. Versa’s critical engine components are micro finished to reduce friction and provide a quicker response, while variable valve timing continuously adjusts engine output to deliver no-nonsense acceleration with fuel-sipping 38 MPG efficiency.

This single, adaptable belt does away with fixed gear ratios. Just put your Versa into “drive” and glide away. The 2012 Versa is equipped with a next-generation CVT to provide smoother performance, quicker acceleration and better fuel economy than ever before.

The new way to steer

Versa’s efficient electric power steering system eliminates the traditional, engine-power-draining hydraulic steering pump and instead draws its power directly from the battery. This subtle difference helps to increase both fuel economy and engine performance.

With Versa’s available Nissan Navigation System, you’ve got plenty of knowledge. Built right into the dash is a 5-inch QVGA touch screen that displays your incoming Bluetooth calls, MP3 / WMA song info, XM NavTraffic updates and vivid 3-D perspective map viewing. Plug your iPod or USB thumb drive into USB input and control the music functions through the audio system or touch-screen.

Six air bags are standard to help protect your most valuable cargo. Two dual-stage supplemental front air bags equipped with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. Supplemental air bags for side-impact protection are built into each front seat. Two roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags help provide head protection for both rows of outboard occupants.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) – A standard ABS systems gives confidence, secure braking when you need it most. 

Electronic Brake force Distribution adjusts proportioning to compensate for added weight from passengers or cargo, and adjusts as fuel is consumed.   

Brake Assist reads how quickly the brakes are engaged and immediately applies maximum available power boost for braking. 

Brake Override Technology – designed to help slow down you vehicle and bring it to an emergency stop. Brake Override Technology overrides the accelerator and reduces power when the accelerator and brake are applied.

Confidence Now Yours

Vehicle Dynamic Control continuously monitors your steering and braking actions, senses any over steer or under steer, and compensates by reducing engine speed and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels. When conditions like rain or snow call for extra grip, the standard Traction Control System can sense a front wheel spin and responds by instantly helping reduce throttle which helps you both regain grip and maintain control of the road.
