Interior aerodynamics for a comfortable ride
Aerodynamics is primarily a concern for the exterior of the vehicle, but we took the innovative approach of applying aerodynamic principles to the inside of the 370Z® Roadster. Extensive research and development went into minimizing the buffeting of air as it moves over and through the cabin, resulting in a quieter ride and more effective climate control systems, even when the top is down.

In the 370Z®, the 4th generation of the legendary Nissan VQ V6 has been increased to 3.7 L for massive low-end power.

A Nissan first, advanced Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) continuously tunes valve lift and timing for quicker response and a broader torque curve, while optimizing fuel economy and reducing emissions.
World’s first SynchroRev Match® manual transmission
Groundbreaking SynchroRev Match® manual transmission technology, available on the Sport Package, monitors the 6-speed’s clutch pedal operation, shift lever movement and vehicle speed. Shifting to a lower gear automatically “blips” the throttle to the ideal engine rpm for a smooth downshift. With smoother shifts helping to keep the chassis balanced, this transmission is able to deliver handling and power.
An aggressive, ultra-quick automatic transmission
A 7-speed automatic transmission gives you the best of a manual and an automatic – a wide spread of gearing for acceleration, while still providing improved efficiency and quiet cruising at higher speeds. And with the automatic’s steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters adding such precise shifting control, you’ll swear there should be a clutch pedal.

A nearly 50/50 dynamic weight balance achieving at the precise movement the drive accelerates out of the corner helps provide the extremely precise handling and unique feel of the 370Z®. To achieve better acceleration under load, the Nissan engineers have set the static ratio at 53 front/47 rear.

All Z® models feature zero front lift providing a secure, confident feeling behind the wheel and helping to enhance control.
Smart engineering for added quickness
A great suspension starts with a strong chassis, so the Z® employs an under-hood 3-point strut tower brace and an underbody V-brace. To help the suspension react even quicker to your inputs, the front suspension now uses even stronger yet lightweight aluminum components and available 19’’ RAYS® super-lightweight forged alloy wheels.

Balance doesn’t’ just apply to cornering – the more power you have, the better braking you need. That’s why the most powerful Z® ever has available 14’’-inch front rotors – the largest brakes ever offered on a Z® - with the gripping power of 4-piston front calipers. Purpose-designed ducting helps to reduce face and provide predictable and precise stropping power.

The 370Z® employs a three-layer design philosophy to make you feel completely connected the instant you sit down. From the Information Layer, you see everything at a glance. At the Operation Layer, everything is easily reached and operated, while the Holding Layer helps hold you in place during spirited driving.

Heat wave or cold snap, you can enjoy top-down driving in comfort with the Roadster’s available heated and cooled seats. Air directed through seat perforations in the seatbacks and button cushions helps keep you toasty warm or cool and dry.

Plug your iPod® into the available USB input and you can control its functions through the audio system or touch-screen monitor, plus get song readouts on the digital display.
