Nissan 370Z Coupe
The redline rush of a 332-hp 3.7-L V6
In the 370Z®, the 4th generation of the legendary Nissan VQ V6 has a whopping 3.7-L displacement to deliver massive low-end power.
More bang for your intake buck
A Nissan first, advanced Variable Valve Event and Lift (WEL) continuously tunes valve lift and timing for quicker response and a broader torque curve, while optimizing fuel economy and reducing emissions.
World’s first SynchroRev Match® manual transmission
Groundbreaking SynchroRev Match manual transmission technology, available on the Sport Package, monitors the 6-speed’s clutch pedal operation, shift lever movement and vehicle speed. Shifting to a lower gear automatically “blips” the throttle to the ideal engine rpm for a smooth downshift. With smoother shifts helping to keep the chassis balanced, this transmission is able to deliver handling and power.
An aggressive, ultra-quick automatic transmission
A 7-speed automatic transmission gives you the best of a manual and an automatic – a wide spread of gearing for heart-pounding acceleration, while still providing improved efficiency and quiet cruising at higher speeds. And with the automatic’s steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters adding such precise shifting control, you’ll swear there should be a clutch pedal.
Precise control makes all the difference between wasting precious power and maximizing all the 370Z® has to give. A low center of gravity leads to ultra-responsive handling, and a wide track further enhances cornering. These engineering details along with the 370Z®’s relatively short wheelbase and overall length, make for incredible maneuverability and, ultimately, performance.
50/50 dynamic balance in the curves
A nearly 50/50 dynamic weight balance achieved at the precise moment the driver accelerates out of the corner helps establish the 370Z®’s extremely precise handing and unique feel. To achieve better acceleration under load, the Nissan engineers have set the static ration at 53 front/47 rear.
Smart engineering for added quickness
To harness all 332 hp, Nissan engineers improved the design and material composites for key rotating components. The available 19’’ RAYS® super-lightweight forged alloy wheels are nearly 20% lighter than those on the previous generation Z®. And the reduced rotating mass on the lighter, incredibly strong carbon-fiber composite driveshaft helps the engine rev more quickly.
A rigid chassis for road forgiveness
The suspension reacts quickly to your input and the road thanks to the stiffness that comes from an under-hood 3-point strut tower brace and an underbody V-brace. The 370Z®’s front suspension uses strong yet lightweight aluminum components for extraordinary responsiveness and feel.
All Z® models feature zero front lift. And if you’re an enthusiast seeking added performance, you can choose the Sport Package that includes a lower front chin aero deflector and rear spoiler for zero rear lift.
Bigger brakes. Better braking
Balance doesn’t just apply to cornering – the more power you have, the better braking you need. That’s why the most powerful Z® ever has available 14’’ front rotors – the largest brakes ever offered on a Z® - with the gripping power of a 4-piston front calipers. Purpose-designed ducting helps to reduce face and provide predictable and precise stopping power.
Richly-crafted. Driver-obsessed: Information Layer
The 370Z® employs a three-layer design philosophy to make you feel completely connected the instant you sit down. From the Information Layer, you see everything at a glance: the windshield pillar has been minimized to improve outward vision, and oval steering wheel with large gauges enhances viewing, and gauges that adjust with the steering column are always easy to use.
Control from the Operation Layer
At the Operation Layer, everything is easily reached and operated: the center console controls are shaped to be identifiable by touch, the low center armrest cover facilitates shifting, and the “kidney-shaped” steering wheel rim fits your hands to connect you directly to the 370Z®.
Sit tight in the Holding Layer
The Holding Layer helps hold you in place during spirited driving with anti-slip materials on the seat cushions and integrated knee pads on both sides of the center console. A uniquely bolstered driver’s seat provides you enhanced support.
Storage for the real world
The rear cargo area offers plenty of open space for the important things in life – like golf clubs. An available retractable cargo cover helps keep things out of sight. And in the cabin, clever built-in storage means everything has a place. A hidden compartment behind the passenger’s seat helps conceal valuables.
Seamless iPod® integration is just the beginning
Plug your iPod® into the available USB input and you can control its functions through the audio system or touch-screen monitor, plus get song readouts on the digital display. You can also play digital music files from a USB flash drive or other compatible storage device – even watch movies on the LCD screen while your Z® is parked.
Go Bluetooth® Go hands and wire-free
The available Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System has a voice-recognition feature that allows you to make and receive calls through the audio system. You can also use Bluetooth® to stream songs from your cell phone’s music player through the stereo speakers.
Touch-screen, voice-activated traffic control
Navigate through congested areas easier with the available touch-screen, voice activated Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System. Its advanced XM NavTraffic® feature displays color-coded, real-time traffic advisories to help you steer clear of the gridlock.
The outlook calls for exhilaration
Windows up or down? It’s easy to decide with available XM NavWeather™. The XM NavWeather™ service advises you of severe weather and potentially slippery roads that could affect your drive, as well as National Weather Service warnings and 3-day weather forecasts.
When you’re hungry for more than just corners
One doesn’t live on twisty roads alone, so the available navigation system provides you with trusted restaurant ratings and reviews by Zagat Survey®.
Cornering music care of Bose®
Because even the most dedicated enthusiast might want to listen to something other than the dual-exhaust note, the 370Z® features an available Bose® audio system that is custom-engineered for the unique shape of its interior. And since it’s also capable of playing MP3/WMA CDs and receiving XM® Satellite Radio, you can have the perfect soundtrack for any driving adventure.
Make life easier
The available RearView Monitor uses a discreet color camera on the back of your vehicle to help you see what’s directly behind you via the Information Center monitor. On-screen guidelines move along with steering input.
Touch and go
Never take your keys out of your pocket or bag again. Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition is so intuitive, it senses your approach to the car and allows you to unlock the door by just tapping a button the handle. Once inside, start the engine without ever putting a key in the ignition.
The Nissan Advanced Air Bag System includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags equipped with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. In addition, standard side-impact supplemental air bags are built into the seats, so they move with you as you adjust your seat. Standard roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags help protect you and your passenger from above.
